Pitcher Craig Stammen Promoted from Potomac Nationals to Columbus Clippers

Stammen has been promoted to Triple-A Columbus. The 24-year-old returns to
the Clippers where he made one start in 2007, suffering a loss against the
Toledo Mud Hens.
The Versailles, Ohio, native went 0-0 while posting a 2.25 ERA in six
relief appearances with Potomac this season. Stammen helped anchor the
Nationals pitching staff that ranked second in the Carolina League with a
2.65 ERA through 21 games.
The Dayton University product spent the majority of the 2007 season with
the P-Nats prior to his late-season call up where he ranked second among
pitchers in wins (8), games started (22), innings pitched (125), and
strikeouts (96). The right-hander finished the season 8-6 with a 4.18 ERA

A former 12th-round pick by the Nationals in the 2005 First-Year Player
Draft, Stammen has an 8-8 record with a 4.28 ERA in 41 career games with
Potomac.
The promotion leaves the Potomac Nationals with 24 players on their active
roster, 11 pitchers and 13 position players.
