Brian Tracy Takes Over as Pitching Coach of State College Spikes - NYPL
Saturday, April 5, 2008 at 11:57AM MLN - THE RAW FEED - www.mlntherawfeed.com - STATE COLLEGE, PA – The Pittsburgh Pirates recently announced Brian Tracy will become the newest member of the State College Spikes field staff by serving as the pitching coach for the 2008 season. Tracy replaces Wilson Alvarez, who was originally named to the position.
Tracy spent the entire 2007 season as a member of the Spikes' pitching staff. The right-hander tossed 22 2/3 innings in 14 games for the Spikes, earning a 3-2 record with a 4.37 ERA. Tracy was drafted by the Pirates in the 20th round of the 2007 First-Year Player Draft.
The 24-year-old attended the University of California Santa Barbara where he played four years for the Gauchos. Tracy had a career record of 8-14 with a 5.53 ERA in 61 games while at UCSB. An Arlington Heights, Ill. native, Tracy

With the addition of Tracy, 2008 will mark the entire field staff's first year with both the State College Spikes and the Pittsburgh Pirates organization.
The Spikes begin their NYPL schedule June 17 when they travel to Jamestown. The team will return home on June 19 to begin their home schedule at 7:05 p.m. against the Jamestown Jammers (Florida Marlins).
