Long Island Ducks Sign Pitcher Clint Nageotte, a Former Major League Pitcher

MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com – (Central Islip, N.Y., May 11, 2008) – Long Island Ducks team officials today announced the signing of pitcher Clint Nageotte. The 27-year-old spent parts of three seasons in the big leagues with Seattle, and pitched for New Orleans (AAA, Mets) in 2007.

“Clint is a proven veteran who solidifies our pitching staff,” says Ducks general manager Michael Pfaff. “We are confident he will be a key contributor to our team this season.”

Nageotte was selected by the Mariners in the fifth round of the 1999 draft. The righthander earned his first call to the Majors in 2004, and spent parts of the following two seasons with the big club. The Ohio native’s best professional season came in 2003 with San Antonio (AA, Mariners) of the Texas League, when he went 11-7 with a 3.10 ERA. He made 27 starts that season, striking out 157 batters in 154 innings. Nageotte is a veteran of eight professional seasons, and owns a mark of 51-37 with a 3.95 ERA in 160 minor league games.

In order to make room for Nageotte on the 25-man roster, the Ducks announced they have placed pitcher Tom Martin on the inactive list.
