Twins Tolberts Bum Thumb Sends Clark Up from Rochester - AAA to MLB

MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com -Minneapolis, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced tonight that they have placed infielder Matt Tolbert on the 15-day disabled list with a torn ligament in his left thumb.  Tolbert injured the thumb diving into first base in his last at-bat on Thursday vs. Toronto.

To replace Tolbert on the 25-man roster, the Twins will select the contract of infielder Howie Clark from Triple-A Rochester.  In 37 games with the Red Wings this season, Clark was batting .286 (33-for-116) with seven doubles, three triples, one home run and 21 rbi.  He is expected to be in uniform for Saturday night’s game at Colorado and will wear uniform number 19.
