MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com – Arvest Ballpark, Springdale, AR - The Travs lost two of their best fielders to leg injuries as OF Adam Greenberg and SS Hainley Statia were placed on the 7-day disabled list Saturday morning. Greenberg is diagnosed with a strained right knee that he suffered while running the bases Thursday. Statia pulled his right hamstring while running the bases Friday night. OF Cliff Remole was sent to Rancho Cucamonga and the Travs got OF Anderson Rosario and IF Wil Ortiz from Rancho Cucamonga.
Greenberg has been a spark plug at the top of the Travs order batting .310 with a .400 on-base pct and 19 runs scored in 22 games. Statia leads all Texas League shortstops with 283 total chances and ranks second with a .979 fielding pct to go along with a .240 batting average, 1 home run and 18 RBI.
Remole leaves the Travs after batting .202 in 28 games with no home runs and 4 RBI.
Rosario makes his second trip to the Travs this season. He spent two days with the club in mid-May and collected a single in his only at-bat. The rangy centerfielder was batting .146 in 35 games at Rancho Cucamonga.
Ortiz is expected to take over at shortstop during Statia's stint on the DL. The 23 year-old from Brooklyn had been playing mostly second base at Rancho Cucamonga although he has plenty of experience at shortstop during his three-year career. In 57 games at Rancho, Ortiz held a .263 batting average with 2 home runs and 25 RBI plus 10 stolen bases.
The Travs' disabled list stands at five players and the active roster is 23.
