Jeff Weaver Activated by Buffalo Bisons

MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com - Buffalo, NY - The Buffalo Bisons have activated RHP Jeff Weaver. To make room on the Bisons roster, INF Chris De La Cruz has been transferred to Double-A Akron. De La Cruz hit .140 (6-43) with 4RBI in 18 games with the Bisons.

Weaver was signed to a minor league contract by the Indians on July 5.

Weaver, 31, owns a career Major League record of 93-114 with a 4.72ERA in 284 Major League appearances (267GS, 1714.2IP, 1862H, 899ER, 463BB, 1124K) over nine seasons from 1999-2007 with Detroit, New York-AL, Los Angeles-NL, St. Louis and Seattle. He won 14 games for the Dodgers in 2005 and won 3 games for the World Champion Cardinals in the 2006 post-season.

He was 7-13 with a 6.20ERA in 27 starts for the Mariners last year (146.2IP, 190H, 101ER). He pitched this season for Triple-A Nashville (Milwaukee) from May 1-June 11 (2-4, 6.22ERA, 9GS, 55.0IP, 38ER).
