Detroit Tigers Slugger Magglio Ordonez to Rehab with the West Michigan Whitecaps

MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com – COMSTOCK PARK, MI — The West Michigan Whitecaps, in conjunction with the Detroit Tigers, announced today that Tigers outfielder Magglio Ordonez is scheduled to start for the Whitecaps in a rehab assignment Monday, July 14 against Peoria at 7:00 p.m.

Ordonez went on the disabled list on June 29 with a pulled oblique. The 34-year-old slugger is in his 12th season in the Majors and fourth season with the Tigers. Ordonez is the reigning American League batting champion with a .363 average with 28 home runs and 139 RBI in 2007 and is a six-time All-Star. This year, he was hitting .307 with 12 home runs and 50 RBI in 80 games at the time of the injury.
