MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com – Clinton, IA – The Clinton LumberKings, in conjunction with the Texas Rangers have announced that right-hander Levi Romero has been transferred to the Clinton roster from high-A Bakersfield.  A former farmhand of the Houston Astros, Romero was selected by the Rangers in the Triple-A phase of the 2006 Rule 5 Draft.

Romero, 24, has split time between Bakersfield and the Arizona League this year after missing all of 2007 with right elbow surgery to remove bone chips.  The Anzoantegui, Venezuela native made just one start with the Blaze, allowing three runs (two earned) on four hits over 5.0 innings in a no-decision against Stockton on July 9.

Romero will join the starting rotation, making his LumberKings’ debut on Monday morning against the Quad Cities River Bandits.

With the move, the Clinton roster stands at 25 active players, with two on the disabled list.
