Kanekoa Texeira Promoted to Double-A Birmingham Barons

MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com - Birmingham, Al - The Chicago White Sox and Birmingham Barons have announced a pair of roster moves.

RHP Carlos Torres has been transferred to AAA Charlotte. He began the season in Birmingham, was transferred to Charlotte for 1 week in early July, and then returned to Birmingham last Thursday. He pitched one scoreless inning in his most recent tenure with the Barons.

RHP Kanekoa Texeira has been received from A-Advanced Winston-Salem. With the Warthogs, Texeira was 3-1 with a league-best 20 saves and a 0.93 ERA in 36 games. He had fanned 36 batters in 38.2 innings, while walking just 14. Before the season, Baseball America said that he possessed the organization's Best Slider, and he was named to the Carolina League All-Star Team last month.
