Jason Glushon Promoted from Kane County Cougars to Stockton Ports

MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com – GENEVA, IL – The Kane County Cougars, in conjunction with the Oakland Athletics, have announced that pitcher Jason Glushon has been promoted to High-A Stockton of the California League. Glushon joins the Ports and leaves the Cougars’ active roster, which stands at 24 players entering play tonight.

Glushon (non-drafted FA, 2007) returns west after already logging time earlier this season with Stockton. The 23-year old has also made stops at Triple-A Sacramento, Double-A Midland in addition to Kane County.

In eight relief appearances with the Cougars, Glushon was 1-0 with a 3.04 ERA and one save. Glushon’s most recent outing as a Cougar will likely be a memorable one as Glushon pitched three innings of relief during the Cougars’ recent July 29 contest at Wrigley Field against the Peoria Chiefs.

The Cougars (16-23) return home after ending a season-long nine game road trip on a positive note. The squad set foot at four ballparks (Fort Wayne’s Memorial Stadium, Dayton’s Fifth Third Field, Wrigley Field and Peoria’s O’Brien Field) after returning home from Peoria late last night. Kane County, however, gets some home cooking starting tonight as the team opens up a seven-game, eight-day homestand at Elfstrom Stadium in Geneva.
