MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com - LITTLE ROCK, Ark., March 19 – Despite a game high 30 points by Anthony Roberson, the Arkansas RimRockers was defeated by the Colorado 14ers, 136-114, in front of 3,988 fans at Alltel Arena on Saturday night.

Arkansas was unable to start a win streak as they dropped to 12-31. Their last winning streak occurred in early February when they swept a home series with the Fort Worth Flyers. Colorado (27-15) used the victory to keep in the race for home court advantage in the playoffs.

“I knew we would be tired tonight,” Arkansas Coach Andy Stoglin said. “We didn’t shoot it well because they had tired legs. [Colorado] was motivated. Last night we had a mental advantage, but tonight this game was real important to them. They’re fighting for first place, and they were really motivated tonight.”

Without the services of center James Lang for the fifth consecutive game, Arkansas was unable to stop anyone inside. The RimRockers were outscored 82-44 in the paint and allowed Colorado to shoot over 61%. The 14ers also dominated the glass, out-rebounding Arkansas 45-35.

Colorado pulled away with a 13-2 run to start the second quarter to take a 45-30 lead. The RimRockers were unable to bring the deficit back into single digits the rest of the game, ending the half down 69-51.

Roger Powell scored 8 of his 24 points in the first quarter as the RimRockers trailed after the first period 32-28. Von Wafer led the early charge for the 14ers going 4-4 from behind the arc and scoring 12 of his 20 points in the period.

Arkansas was unable to use a strong second half start for a second night in a row as Colorado used an 11-1 run midway through the third quarter to take their biggest lead of the night, 28, capped off by an old-fashioned three point play by Elton Brown. Brown scored 15 points in the quarter and ended the night with a team high 21.
