Idaho Stampede Keep the Trampling Streak Going with 19th Straight Win, 93-87 Over the Anaheim Arsenal – NBA D-League

MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com – Anaheim, Calif. - February 4, 2008 - On Monday night, the Anaheim Arsenal had a second chance to stop the longest winning streak in NBA D-League history. Going into Monday night match up the Idaho Stampede had set a record of 16-straight wins, their last win coming off a nail biter against the Arsenal two nights prior.

In that game Anaheim controlled the first three quarters then let the game slip away in the final two minutes. History repeated itself in Monday night’s, 93 - 87, Stampede victory.

The game was at a standstill, 66 - 66, going into the fourth quarter. Leads were exchanged for the majority of the quarter, until late in the game when Anaheim missed 4 crucial free throws that could have caused the game to reach a different outcome.

Stampede forward, Mickael Gelabale, had another outstanding game off the bench, finishing with 24 points on 10-of-12 shooting from the field, including a 17-foot fade away jumper that put the Stampede up for good with 13.7 seconds left in the game.

Though the Arsenal had four players score in double digits, it was not enough to defeat the D-League’s number one team. The Arsenal’s team leader in points per game, forward Ivan Johnson, was absent from the list of Arsenal players in double digits because of limited minutes due to foul trouble. Johnson finished the game with 8 points, attempting only 7 field goals.

With the victory, Idaho increases their record winning streak to 17-games.
