MLN Newswire-www.mlntherawfeed.com-Orleans, MA.  The ABA Cape Cod Frenzy announced the signing of 6'6" guard-forward Byron Mouton, a starter on the 2001 Maryland Terrapins' NCAA squad.  Mouton is from Rayne, Louisiana and was ranked 29th nationally in the class of 1997.  After two seasons at Tulane, Mouton transferred to the University of Maryland  While playing alongside future NBA draft picks Steve Blake, Juan Dixon, Lonny Baxter and Chris Wilcox, he earned the praises of coach Gary Williams:  "Byron changed our team last year when he became a starter...hie is a very tough defensive player...and made contributions on both ends of the court."

His senior season (2001) culminated in the first ever NCAA Championship for the Maryland Terrapins with a win over Indiana.  During the Terps' title run, Mouton was charged with defending some of the nation's toughest players in the NCAA Tournament.

Professsionally, Mouton has been in NBA training camps (Boston Celtics 2002) and played overseas in Germany, Dominican Republic and France.  The Cape Cod Frenzy's GM, Ian McCarthy, attended the University of Maryland from 1988-90 and is originally from Chevy Chase, Maryland.

Mouton will be in uniform as the Frenzy face the Montreal Matrix at Barnstable High School Sunday December 10th at 405pm.
