MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com - Halifax, Nova Scotia. After returning from a couple of tryout camps in the United States, the ABA Halifax Rainmen have added four more players to their roster, who will be calling Halifax their home this coming season.
The new members of the Rainmen include: Devino Williams (Michigan), Brian Silverhorn (Kentucky), James Booyer (Indiana) and Sam Mack (Chicago). President of the Halifax Rainmen, Andre Levingston, could not hold back his excitement. "When I watched these guys play, I just knew I had to sign them. These are the type of players that can bring Halifax a championship."
One name that stands out among the new recruits is Sam Mack, who played seven seasons with the NBA, averaging eight points a game and shooting 37.8% from behind the arc. This 6'7" guard/forward brings a wealth of knowledge and experience about the game to the Rainmen.
The Rainmen have also released their schedule for the upcoming season. The team will play 18 home games and 18 away games. The first home game is slated for November 15th against the Boston United Eagles. All Halifax Rainmen home games will be played at the Halifax Metro Centre.
Also, the Halifax Rainmen have announced that Head Coach Kevin MaBone will be stepping down from coaching duties because his mother has fallen gravely ill. "At this time, I feel I cannot give the Rainmen my full attention. Halifax is a great basketball town, and I will be watching the team as they grow and progress through the season," said MaBone. Rick Lewis will take over as the new Head Coach of the Rainmen immediately. "I send my condolences to Kevin and the MaBone family. I'm going to pick upwhere Coach MaBone left off and guide this team to a championship," said Coach Lewis.
