The Manchester Wolves Assigned OS Ari Confesor for 2007 Season - AF2

MLN Newswire- www.mlntherawfeed.com- The arenafootball2 league office announced today that the Manchester Wolves professional af2 team has been assigned OS Ari Confesor for the 2007 season.

Confesor (5-11, 175), a Rhode Island native, will enter his second season with the Wolves after an impressive rookie campaign last year. The College of Holy Cross graduate's career didn't start off as planned for the Wolves due to a nagging hamstring injury which sidelined him early on. Once healthy however, the speedy offensive specialist caught on quick gathering 13 catches for 175 yards and three touchdowns in five regular season games. In the Wolves two playoff contests last season Confesor stood out like an arena veteran, as he proved to be one of team's best wide receivers, catching 11 balls for 235 yards and a team-leading six touchdowns.

Before joining the Wolves, "Mr. Excitement", as known by his Holy Cross peers, led the Crusaders as a senior in 2003 in catches (90), yards (1,213) and receiving touchdowns (9), as well as serving as an electrifying kick and punt returner. He was named a Division I-AA third-team All-American as a senior at Holy Cross after ranking fifth in I-AA in all-purpose ( 172.67 per game) and receiving yards (1,213) and receptions per game (7.5). The two-time All-American currently holds seven records at the College of Holy Cross.

"After being injured for the first part of the season he filled in nicely for Steve Gonzalez, our leading receiver who went down with an ankle injury," said Wolves Head Coach Ben Bennett on Confesor's late season impact. "He showed he has a tremendous upside, and I can see him being one of the top receivers in the league next season."

Currently, Confesor has been making a positive impact off the field as well in the "Queen City," as he not only teaches at the Manchester School of Technology but also took on the role of head coach at Manchester Memorial High School for the Crusaders freshman basketball team.

"I'm very excited about playing in Manchester for another season in front of our great fans," said Confesor. "Last season was bittersweet for me because I didn't get to reach my full potential due to some hamstring problems early on, but now I'm 100% and ready to do whatever it takes to give Coach Bennett, the Wolves organization and the City of Manchester what they deserve, a championship!"
