Johnnie Balous Activated from Injured Reserve by AFL Georgia Force

MLN - THE RAW FEED - www.mlntherawfeed.com – FLOWERY BRANCH, GAThe Georgia Force today activated FB/LB Johnnie Balous from injured reserve. The team also signed WR Tiger Jones and released WR Fred Coleman.

Balous, 6-1, 260 pounds, was signed by the Force on January 25, 2008 after being released by the Grand Rapids Rampage, where he had spent the previous three seasons. Balous has spent the first four weeks of the season in injured reserve after suffering an injury during training camp. He has collared 14.5 tackles and 2.5 sacks in 14 career games.

Jones, 5-11, 184 pounds, enters his first season in the AFL after spending the 2007 season with the Louisville Fire of the af2. Jones posted 1,897 receiving yards on 142 receptions with 37 touchdowns in 16 regular season games for the Fire. He added 236 receiving yards in the postseason bringing his season total to 2,133, which set the franchise record for most receiving yards in a single-season, surpassing the previous mark of 2,063 set by Rob Mager in 2006.

Coleman, 6-1, 190 pounds, was signed on February 18, 2008 and has tallied nine catches for 88 yards in three contests this season.
