MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com - Moline, IL-The Quad City Mallards today announced that the team has signed rookie forward Anthony Pototschnik. The 6-foot-3, 200-pound forward played 13 games this season with the Sarnia Sting of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). He finishes his junior hockey career with 154 games played between the OHL and the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). The power forward recorded 33 points (20 goals and 13 assists) with 342 penalty minutes during his junior career.

This season, Pototschnik recorded three points (two goals and an assist) and 17 penalty minutes in 13 games with Sarnia. During the 2005-06 season, the Mississauga, Ontario native played 62 games with the QMJHL’s St. John’s Fog Devils. He recorded 21 points on 15 goals and six assists with 144 penalty minutes.

Pototschnik spent the 2004-05 season with the Prince Edward Island Rocket of the QMJHL. He played 53 games and recorded seven points (two goals and five assists) with 168 penalty minutes. As a 17-year old, he made his OHL debut with the Kitchener Rangers. During his premier season of major junior hockey, he played 26 games and recorded two points (a goal and an assist) with 13 penalty minutes.
