Cincinnati Cyclones Roster Increases with Signing of One, Receipt of Three Others

MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com – CINCINNATI, Ohio – The 2008 Kelly Cup champion Cincinnati Cyclones, announced this morning they have received three players from the Hamilton Bulldogs (AHL) and signed another for the upcoming season. The Cyclones are the ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Montreal Canadiens and Nashville Predators.

The Cyclones have received goaltender Loic Lacasse and forwards Thomas Beauregard and Olivier Latendresse from Hamilton (AHL) and have signed defenseman Joey Ryan to a contract.

Lacasse, 22, played his rookie season with Bloomington (IHL), posting a 19-18-5 record with a 3.24 goals against average and a .906 save percentage.  The six-foot-two, 175 pound native of Granby, QC, turned in his first pro shutout, a 33 save effort in a 2-0 win over Port Huron on Jan. 12. Six times during the season Loic limited the opposition to just a single goal.

Beauregard, 22, played all of his rookie season in Cincinnati, collecting 31 goals and 34 assists for 65 points in 59 games.  The five-foot-eleven, 182 pounder hails from St-George-Beauce, QC had 15 multiple point games.  Thomas registered a five point game with a hat trick and two assists in an 8-6 win over Reading on Jan. 5.  He also collected nine goals and seven assists for 16 points in 19 Kelly Cup playoff games in the spring.

Latendresse, 22, spent his second professional season with Arizona (CHL), San Antonio (AHL) and was eventually assigned to the Cyclones.  The five-foot-ten, 195 pound native of LaSalle, QC netted seven goals and 28 assists for 35 points in 24 games with Cincinnati.  Oliver collected points in 14 of the 24 games he played with the Cyclones and had
multiple points in all but one of those contests.  He was the fifth-leading scorer during the Kelly Cup playoffs with seven goals and twelve assists for 19 points.

The three assignees from Hamilton are expected to arrive in the Queen City on Wednesday.

Ryan, 20, completed his junior career by splitting the season between Quebec and Gatineau (QMJHL).  He appeared in 44 games between the squads and netted a goal and 20 assists for 21 points and 68 penalty minutes.  In 2006-07, Joey played in 59 games with Quebec (QMJHL) and registered five goals and 17 assists for 22 points and 125 penalty minutes.

The six-foot-one, 204 pound native of Stoneham, MA was the second round choice (#48 overall) by the Los Angeles Kings in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
