Barrie Colts Select Ryan O' Connor in First Round of Priority Selection - OHL

MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com - Barrie, ON- The Barrie Colts today announced they have selected  Toronto Jr. Canadiens defenseman Ryan O’Connor in the first round  (6th overall) of the 2008 OHL Priority Selection.

O’Connor, 16, anchored the OHL Cup Champion Junior Canadiens defense  and posted 25 goals to go along with 58 assists plus 94 penalty  minutes in 85 games during the 2007-08 season. A 5.10, 185-pound  native of Hamilton, ON, O’Connor is eligible to join the club for  the 2008-09 season.

“In O’Connor, we feel we are getting a complete player. He is a  strong skater, hard hitter, and great at both ends of the ice. Not  only is he a smart hockey player, but a great character kid who we  feel can be a future leader of our club,” Darrell Woodley, Barrie  Colts Director of Player Personnel & Head Scout.
