Barrie Colts Trade Pick in Preparation for Upcoming Ontario Hockey League Draft

MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com – Barrie, ON- The Barrie Colts today announced they have traded one of their 4th round picks, the 69th selection in tomorrow’s OHL draft to the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds in exchange for a 4th round pick in 2009 and a 6th Round Pick in 2010.
 
The pick Barrie is sending originally belonged to the Mississauga St. Michael’s Majors.  The 4th round pick the Greyhounds are sending originally belonged to Barrie, and the 6th round pick is Sault Ste. Marie’s draft position.
 
After this deal, the Colts still own 16 picks in Saturday’s OHL draft, one in each round, plus one extra in the 12th round.

Players born during the 1992 calendar year are first time eligible to be drafted.  A maximum of two 1992-born players plus two “wildcard” selections will be eligible to play for each member team for the 2008-09 season.  Here is a breakdown of Barrie’s draft positions:
 
Round/No. of Picks: 1/1, 2/1, 3/1, 4/1, 5/1, 6/1, 7/1, 8/1, 9/1, 10/1, 11/1, 12/2, 13/1, 14/1, 15/1
