Albany River Rats Recall Robert Hennigar
Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at 07:48AM MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com -ALBANY, NY—The Albany River Rats announced today that forward Robert Hennigar has been recalled from the Florida Everblades and that forward Harrison Reed has been assigned to the ECHL club.
Hennigar, 26, has scored eight goals and added fifteen assists (23 points) with a plus-6 rating in 17 ECHL games with the Everblades this season. The Jordan, Ontario native is in his second professional season and his first with the Hurricanes organization after being acquired in a trade from the New York Islanders for forward Bobby Hughes on August 31, 2009. Hennigar (5’11”, 194 lbs.) split his first professional season between Bridgeport (AHL) and Utah (ECHL), totaling 13 points (3 goals, 10 assists) in 34 games with the Sound Tigers and leading the Grizzlies in assists (44), points (59), and plus-minus (+24) in 38 games. He Spent four seasons with the University of New Brunswick Reds of the Atlantic University Sport (AUS) conference in Canada and totaled 177 points (46 goals, 131 assists) in 177 games.
Reed, 21, has two assists, two penalty minutes and a plus-1 rating in 19 games this season with Albany. Carolina’s third round (93rd overall) selection in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft totaled nine points (five goals, four assists) in 70 games with the River Rats last season in his rookie campaign. The Newmarket, Ontario native also scored a goal in one game with Florida last season. Reed (6’1”, 188 lbs.) totaled 178 points (69g, 109a) in 210 regular-season games with London, Sarnia and Guelph during a four year career in the Ontario Hockey League.
