Phoenix RoadRunners Make Roster Additions, Deletions in Preparation for Season Opener

PHOENIX, Ariz. – The Phoenix RoadRunners of the ECHL have signed forward Jeff Smith to a contract for the 2007-08 season, and released center Nick Pomponio and defenseman Nathan Schwartzbauer.

Smith, 26, tallied two goals and 14 points, and registered 137 penalty minutes in 47 games in 2006-07 with the Alaska Aces.  The Regina, Saskatchewan native and sixth-year professional was a member of the 2005 Kelly Cup Champion Trenton Titans, and has logged a combined 58 games in the American Hockey League with the Philadelphia Phantoms and the Manitoba Moose.  Smith has recorded 23 goals, 37 assists, 60 points, and 741 penalty minutes in 258 career games. 

Pomponio and Schwartzbauer did not record a point in either pre-season game over the weekend at Arizona.
