Tennessee Mud Frogs Swamp Alabama Bounce and Knoxville Noise in Back-to-Back ABA Wins

MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com - Chattanooga, TN.  The ABA Tennessee Mud Frogs opened the 2006-2007 season with wins over the South Alabama Bounce and the Knoxville Noise.  In the first game, the Bounce jumped out to a commanding lead to start the game and maintained a double digit lead throughout three quarters, leading at the half 71-54.
 
The fourth quarter revealed the most excitement for both teams as the Mud Frogs closed the lead to five going into the quarter.  The the game in its final minutes, the Mud Frogs needed a group of three's top have a chance.  A.J. Mastin and Sidney Pointer came through with six second left to tie the score at 113 and go into overtime with the Mud Frogs winning.  Sidney Pointer ended up[ with 24, Chris Brown with 23 and Steve Cherry 22 for the Mud Frogs.
 
Then came the Noise and two Tennessee teams went into battle.  It was a back and forth game with the Mud Frogs having to break the Noise press regularly and keeping strong on the boards.  Deltorio "Bam" Campbell who had 15 rebounds in game 1 added 10 in game two - and the Mud Frogs pulled out a close 107-104 victory.  Again, Steve Cherry led the scoring with 24 and A.J. Mastins had 21 - and the Mud Frogs begin the season at 2-0. Ribbet!
