Pittsburgh Xplosion Beaten by Jamario Moon of the Albany Patroons 132-130 in OT - CBA Basketball

MLN Newswire-www.mlntherawfeed.com-PITTSBURGH, January 1, 2007 - Kevin Pittsnogle exploded for 42 points to lead six players in double figures for Pittsburgh (1-11), but Albany's Jamario Moon connected on a jumper from the corner with 1.8 seconds remaining in overtime to lift the Patroons (11-3) a 132-130 victory in Continental Basketball Association action at Mellon Arena.
The Xplosion had an opportunity to win in regulation after Pittsnogle hit a pair of free throws to put Pittsburgh on top 118-116 with 25 econds left in the fourth quarter. Moon however answered with a bucket to tie the contest. Pittnogle's tip-in at the buzzer was off the mark.
In the extra time, Moon continued to shine and the Patroons built a five point lead. The Xplosion then battled back. A basket by Jenkins made it a one possession game and then Pittsnogle tied the game at 130-130 with a three. Moon then hit the game-winner with time winding down. Isaac Jefferson's shot at the buzzer hit the front of the iron.
A high-scoring affair, Pittsnogle finished with 42 points, outdueling Albany's T.J. Thompson, who tallied 41 points, for game-high honors. Three other Xplosion players had double doubles, including Greg Jenkins (25 points, 11 rebounds), Marvin Phillips (20 points, 11 rebounds) and Marc Williams (16 points, 13 assists). Moon finished with 31 for the Patroons.
Pittsburgh dominated the boards, outrebounding Albany 59-35. Turnover, however, hindered the Xplosion as they turned the ball over a season-high 37 times.
The Black and Gold claimed three of four quarter points in the contest.
