Cardel "Ballaholic" Butler Returns to San Diego Wildcats Lineup, as Wildcats Defeat Hollywood Game 119-118 - ABA

MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com - San Diego, CA.  Cardell "Ballaholic" Butler returned to the lineup for the ABA San Diego Wildcats as he was missing in action for the past three games returning from the ABA All Star Game. The Wildcats had their 8-game win streak snapped by the Maywood Buzz and were eager to start a new win streak this time around with the Hollywood Game.  They won 119-118.

The Wildcats started with very cold shooting and the Fame jumped all over the Cats doubling the score 34-17 in the first quarter.  At that point, Butler stole the ball and made a four pointer with the 3D rule in effect.  San Diego took the momentum from that play into the second quarter.  Sheldon Pace and Malcolm Battles gave the Wildcats their first lead at 37-36.  The game remained a struggle for both teams as they traded leads.

With the game tied at 118, Hollywood had the ball with the shot clock off to take the final winning shot in regulation. Butler would not allow it as he blocked the ball and regained possession for the Wildcats.  Butler went up for a long three and was fouled as the buzzer went off. Butler would miss the first free throw but made the second to give San Diego the victory.  "Ballaholic" had 31 points, 8 rebounds, 4 steals and 2 assists in his return.
