MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com - Indianapolis, IN.  The American Basketball Association (ABA) today released its Power Rankings through Saturday, February 24th - and in spite of a loss, the Vermont Frost Heaves narrowly edged out the powerful Arkansas Aeros and Texas Tycoons for the number one spot.  According to Brad Hester, ABA VP of Team Operations, "This next week should be a dandy as the league draws to a close and teams position themselves for the playoff run. There are only 24 playoff positions and there are 30 teams with a chance to make it.  Every game counts - and you know that it will be a very competitive week."
The rankings:

1.  Vermont Frost Heaves
2.  Arkansas Aeros
3.  Texas Tycoons
4.  Jacksonville Jam
5.  Quad City Riverhawks
6.  Beijing Aoshen
7.  Rochester Razorsharks
8.  Minnesota Ripknees
9.  Wilmington Sea Dawgs
10. Bellingham Slam
11. Mississippi Miracles
12. San Diego Wildcats
13. Detroit Panthers
14. Buffalo Silverbacks
15. Strong Island Sound
16. Quebec Kebekwa
17. Peoria Kings
18. Sauk Valley Rollers
19. Hollywood Fame
20. Maryland Nighthawks
21. Gallup Outlaws
22. Palm Beach Imperials
23. Cape Cod Frenzy
24. Maywood Buzz

"The Tennessee Mud Frogs, Brooklyn Coments, Atlanta Vision, St. Louis Stunners, King County Royals and Orlando Aces could make it with wins closing out the season," added Hester. "Nothing's set in stone yet."
