Newark Express Get A Win and A Loss In Weekend Series Against Quebec Kebekwa and Rochester RazorSharks - ABA

MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com - Newark, NJ.  The ABA Newark Express went 1 & 1 in back-to-back games over the weekend, hosting the Quebec Kebekwa and the ABA defending champion Rochester RazorSharks.  The first game featured a hard fought battle between the two teams that went back and forth for most of the game until Newark pulled away for a 103-99 victory over the Kebs.  Led by Phillip Smith with 21 points and an impressive 6 blocked shots, the Express had five players in double figures.  Duquan Everett again commanded the boards with 15 rebounds and 12 points.  Quebec was led by Paul Lermand with 22 points.
 
The RazorSharks defeated the Express 105-83.  With Rochester leading 48-46 at the half, the RazorSharks used a 34-19 run in the third quarter to extend their lead.  Led by Keith Friels 22 points, the RazorSharks were able to maintain their lead built in the third with hot 3-point shooting in the 4th quarter.  Each time Newark made a run, the RazorSharks knocked down another three to maintain the lead.
 
Phillip Smith led the Express with 17 points, 3 blocked shots. Marvin McCullough and Reggie Winkfield chipped in 16 apiece.
