MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com - Selden, NY.  Brian Woodward led the ABA Strong Island Sound with 25 points as they dominated the visiting Montreal Royal at Suffolk Community College, 111-95.  Earning their second consecutive home victory, the Sound improved to 17-12 and topped last season's win total with six games remaining on their schedule.

Playing at a disadvantage to the much taller visiting club, the Sound took it right to them and were able to consistently score from inside the paint.  Commenting on his team's success from inside, Sound head coach Dytanya Mixson stated afterwards, "The got the height, but our guys are more mobile. We have the better players in the low block."

The Sound led at halftime, 54-45, but at the start of the second half, Montreal went on a 10-2 run and took a 64-62 lead with a three point field goal.  Strong Island maintained their composure and were able to regain the lead with two rushes by Woodward.  Quick passes in the paint led to Sound baskets throughout the third quarter - giving them a 79-70 advantage at the end of three.  The Sound opened up the fourth quarter with the clincher, a 20-4 run and a 99-74 lead and cruised to victory.  Greg Plummer had 16 points; Raphael Edwards had 16 points, 7 assists and 4 rebound; Williams added 18 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals.   Montreal was led by Miller with 30 and Shawn Browne with 34.
