Wes Cooper Signed by Frisco Thunder - IFL

MLN - THE RAW FEED - www.mlntherawfeed.com - FRISCO, Tex. –  Frisco Thunder Head Football Coach Troy Esprit announced on Thursday the signing of quarterback Wes Cooper, who has appeared in the last two championship games of the Intense Football League.

Cooper led the Corpus Christi Hammerheads to consecutive Intense Bowl appearances in 2006 and 2007, following a regular season where he threw for 2,451 yards and 57 touchdowns with just 12 interceptions. The Hammerheads ended the Thunder’s inaugural season with a 55-41 decision in the semifinals.

The move from Corpus Christi is also a chance for Cooper to play closer his hometown of Edgewood . He currently is a teacher at Kaufman High School .

“I’m fired up,” Cooper said. “Coming to Frisco is a perfect fit. My family can come to see me play and I can be involved off the field as well as on the field.”

Cooper played his college ball at Division III Louisiana College, where he led the entire nation -- Division I, II and III -- in total offense per game, averaging 379.4 yards per game his senior season in 2006.
