Pierre Velazquez Signs with Frisco Thunder - IFL

MLN - THE RAW FEED - www.mlntherawfeed.com - FRISCO, Tex. (February 5, 2008) – Former Plano East wide receiver Pierre Velazquez has signed with the Frisco Thunder, head coach Troy Esprit announced today. Velazquez comes to the Thunder after a season with the Oklahoma City Yard Dawgs of af2, where he caught 60 passes for 674 yards and eight touchdowns in 11 games. He had a nine-catch, 115-yard and three touchdown night in Oklahoma ’s second game of the season, a 76-42 rout of the Corpus Christi Sharks. Velazquez also returned a kickoff for a touchdown in that 2007 season. At Plano East, Velazquez was District 9-5A offensive player of the year and was part of the Panthers’ area finalist team. “ Pierre brings speed and youth to the wide receiver position,” Esprit said. Velazquez is the Thunder’s second Plano East alumni pre-season signee, joining defensive back Chris Johnson.
