Frisco Thunders Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week - IFL

MLN - THE RAW FEED - www.mlntherawfeed.com - FRISCO, Tex. (Mar. 27, 2008) – Despite his team’s 54-50 loss to the CenTex Barracudas, Frisco Thunder linebacker Chris Glenn was named the Intense Football League’s defensive player of the week, it was announced today.

In his Thunder debut, Glenn did set an IFL record with 4.5 tackles for loss. He also posted the team’s best sack total of the year with 3.5. Glenn started the season in the Thunder’s training camp, but moved on to Team Texas of the All-American Football League after being selected in its supplemental draft.

When the AAFL suspended operations, Glenn rejoined Frisco that week. CenTex’s Omar Coleman, who burned the Thunder twice for touchdowns on kickoff returns, garnered the league’s special teams player of the week.

Fairbanks quarterback Bo Bartik was named offensive player of the week despite the Grizzlies being held scoreless for an entire half in a 22-17 victory over the Odessa Roughnecks that marked the lowest point total for a winning team in the IFL’s history.

Glenn is the fourth Thunder player to earn a league-wide honor this season, joining Wes Cooper, Richard Morris and Kevin Lenford.
