SWASHBUCKLER 41, HAMMERHEADS 32
ROBSTOWN, La. – Fred Harrison threw three touchdown passes to Sammy Knight and rushed for two more as the Louisiana Swashbucklers (14-0) concluded the first undefeated regular season in IFL history by defeating Corpus Christi (10-4).
Knight finished with eight catches for 134 yards as the Swashbucklers took an early 17-3 lead and never trailed again. The Hammerheads closed to 31-29 on Stephen Fillmore’s 1-yard run with 8:10 left but Louisiana answered with a 4-yard Harrison run.
Schuyler Anderson tied a league-record with 16 receptions for the Hammerheads.
GRIZZLIES 68, WILD 66
FAIRBANKS, Ak. – Bo Bartik threw for 266 yards and seven touchdowns as the Fairbanks Grizzlies (3-11) defeated the Alaska Wild (5-9) to earn a split of the season series with their in-state rivals. Both teams won their two home games.
Alaska scored 30 points in the second quarter to take a 36-20 lead midway through the second quarter, but Fairbanks used a 35-8 run to build a 17-point lead entering the final quarter.
Kenny Wilson (10 receptions, 104 yards) and Anthony Parks (8-93) each scored twoce for the Grizzlies.
Darnell Louvett rushed for four Alaska touchdowns. The Wild earned a playoff bid despite concluded their second regular season without a road victory.
ROUGHNECKS 74, RUFF RIDERS 61
ODESSA, Tex. – Dennis Giles threw five touchdowns passes and ran for another as Odessa (7-7) clinched the fourth seed in the playoffs and eliminated Katy (5-9).
Ten different Roughnecks scored as Odessa led by as many as 30 points. Don Robinson caught 10 passes for 149 yards and two touchdowns.
Jermaine Alfred three for five touchdowns – three to Torric Goins and two to Jammal Lord – for Katy.
STAMPEDE EXPRESS 57, THUNDER 23
SAN ANGELO, Tex. – Brent Dearmon threw for 223 yards and six touchdowns --three to Anthony Perine -- as the Stampede Express (5-9) scored 33 consecutive points to pull away from a 14-9 first quarter lead and win its fourth straight game and post its best record .
Dixie Wooten, who came in as quarterback after starter Wes St. Aubin was injured, threw one touchdown pass to Daron Lawrence and rushed for another for Frisco (6-8), who advanced to the playoffs thanks to the losses by Katy and Alaska.
