2008 Womens Pro Football World Championships to be Held in Memphis, TN on July 26, 2008

MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com – The 2008 World Championships of women's pro football will be held Saturday, July 26, 2008 at the Millington Central High School stadium. Tailgating will start at 5:00pm with kick off at 7:00pm.
This is the biggest game in the world for women's pro football and will feature the top two teams of the more than 35 teams inthe National Women's Football Association. The teams are now in the playoffs to see who will be coming to battle for the title of "World Champion".

The NWFA is 8 years old with teams from Maine to California. The game is played with NFL rules. "A lot of people are skeptical at first about women playing real hard hitting tackle football. But, once they see how talented our players are and the level of skill they possess, they become huge fans," states league CEO, Catherine Masters. The league has been featured in every major media outlet in the U.S. including the New York Times, ABC, NBC, CBS, ESPN and CNN.

The Memphis area was selected for the site of the championship game for a variety of reasons. "We have a great team in town (The Memphis Belles), the support of the Naval base and the Mayor, Terry Jones of Millington. When a community comes together to support us, we try to return the favor," Masters adds.
In addition to the Championship game, fans will be able to play in the NWFA golf outing on Friday, July 25th which will be held at the naval base golf course. There are a limited number of spots available and interested golfers should visit the league's global website to sign up.
