Af2 Names Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz WR Al Hunt to All-Ironman Team

MLN - THE RAW FEED - www.mlntherawfeed.com -

OKLAHOMA CITY – The arenafootball2 league office announced Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz WR/DB Al Hunt has been named to the af2 All-Ironman Team.

Hunt played in all 16 regular season games and was the team’s leading receiver with 94 receptions for 1,343 yards and 26 TDs.  He also added 31 rushes for 54 yards and 8 TDs and finished the season as the team’s leading scorer with 226 total points.   Defensively, Hunt had a sack, a recovered fumble, a safety and added 16 total tackles.  Truly an all-around player, Hunt returned two kickoffs for TDs and was named the af2’s Schutt Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts in the Dawgz 57-42 Week 2 victory over the Arkansas Twisters.

Earlier this season Hunt became the second man in af2 history to reach 1,000 total career points and is currently 3rd in the af2 with most career touchdowns (175), second with most receiving touchdowns (150), second with most receiving yards (6,745) and fourth with most pass receptions (486).

“No one is more deserving of the Ironman award,” said Yard Dawgz Head Coach Sparky McEwen.  “Hunt is the heart and soul of the Yard Dawgz football team.”

Since 2003, Hunt has been one of the league’s most consistent all-around players.  This is the sixth consecutive year Hunt has received All-league honors, the most of any current player.  He earned First-Team accolades in 2004 and 2007 while earning All-af2 Second-Team recognition in 2003 (Tulsa), 2005 and 2006.

This is Hunt’s first All-Ironman award of his career.
