Mahoning Valley Thunder Suffer Huge Defeat to Green Bay Blizzard 61-13
Sunday, July 27, 2008 at 12:45PM Youngstown, OH. – The Mahoning Valley offense was nearly invisible en route to a 61-13 home loss to Green Bay in the season finale. Under the direction of rookie Quarterback Ray Marrow-the fifth signal caller to start a game in 2008, the Thunder produced just six first half points and thirteen overall. Mahoning Valley’s main offensive threat came from the leg of veteran Kicker Derek Schorejs. The Bowling Green product connected on both of his first quarter field goal attempts, including a franchise record 45-yarder. Schorejs’ record setter momentarily cut the Blizzard lead to 13-6 as the first quarter came to a close.
