MLN - THE RAW FEED - www.mlntherawfeed.com – Sioux Falls, SD – The Sioux Falls Canaries (4-0-1) finished a perfect exhibition season with a 6-2 win over the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks on Monday night at Sioux Falls Stadium.
The Birds took the lead in the bottom of the third inning. The Canaries loaded the bases on consecutive singles by Kennard Bibbs, Tim Hutting, and Will Smith. Bibbs scored when Ben Van Iderstine reached on a fielder’s choice, and Hutting scored on a single by Josh Patton.

Fargo-Moorhead got one back in the fourth inning. Jeff Eure led off the inning with a double and advanced to third on a groundout by Alan Rick. Eure scored on a sacrifice fly to centerfield by David Castillo to cut the Canaries lead in half, 2-1.
The Canaries added to their lead in the fourth. Beau Torbert and Patrick Reilly led off the inning with back-to-back walks. A groundout to the shortstop by Paul Smyth advanced the runners into scoring position. Bibbs brought home Torbert with a grounder to the shortstop, and an errant throw home allowed Reilly to score on the play as well. Hutting reached on an errant throw by the shortstop that allowed Bibbs to third. Smith brought home Bibbs with an RBI groundout, and Hutting scored on a single by Van Iderstine. The four-run inning put the Canaries ahead by five, 6-1.
The RedHawks got one more in the eighth. Carlo Cota walked and advanced to third on a wild pitch and a passed ball, before scoring on a groundout by Eure. The run scored by Cota was the last of the game in the 6-2 final.
Lenny Bays started the game for the Canaries. Bays pitched four innings allowing one run on four hits. Angelo Morales relieved Bays, pitching two shutout innings of two-hit baseball. Travis Kane pitched a perfect seventh inning, Josh Kite allowed one run on one walk in the eighth, and Javier Garcia struck out the side in the ninth.
