Long Island Ducks Edge Lancaster Barnstormers in 11 Innings

MLN - THE RAW FEED - www.mlntherawfeed.com - Central Islip, N.Y. – The Long Island Ducks defeated the Lancaster Barnstormers on Monday 4-3 in 11 innings at Citibank Park.

P.J. Rose came through with a single in the 11th inning to plate Alex Sanchez with the winning run. The game had been scoreless since the fourth, when the Ducks scored runs on back-to-back triples by Donaldo Mendez and Pete Maestrales, and an RBI ground out by Damian Rolls. Maestrales also had an RBI double in the second to score the Flock’s first run. Lancaster scored all of its runs in the third inning, highlighted by a home run by Danny Gonzalez.

The Ducks bullpen stole the show for much of the game, hurling seven scoreless innings and allowing just two hits. Ben Grezlovski worked two innings, picking up four strikeouts, while Clint Nageotte and Todd

Manny Ulloa started for Long Island, allowing three runs – two earned – in four innings before the rain brought his night to a premature end. Shane Youman allowed one run and two hits over three innings in his season debut for Lancaster.
