Grand Prairie AirHogs Outslug Pensacola Pelicans 9-7

Grand Prairie, TX (07.04.08) -The Grand Prairie AirHogs battled
it out for a 9-7 victory over the Pensacola Pelicans in the longest game in
QuikTrip Park history lasting 3 hours and 45 minutes on Friday night.



           In the top of the

MLN - THE RAW FEED - www.mlntherawfeed.com - first, Pensacola earned the first run of the
night. Dallas Christison got on base with a single to left field and grabbed
the run for the Pelicans on a double play that kept him from getting the
RBI.



           Grand Prairie answered in the bottom of the first with David
Espinosa getting the run on a sacrifice fly by Billy Munoz to tie the game.
With Noel Trevino on third, Derek Nicholson came up with a RBI single to
center giving the AirHogs the 2-1 lead.



           The AirHogs strengthened their lead in the bottom of the fourth.
J.B. Tucker hit a double to center field and earned the run on a RBI single
by Drew Holder. Holder then came home on RBI double to right by Brandon
Carter putting the score at 4-1.



           In the bottom of the fifth, Drew Holder came up to bat smashing
a solo homer to left fielder setting the score at 5-1.



           Pensacola shortened the AirHogs' lead in the top of the seventh.
Brandon Sing earned a run on a RBI single to right. The Pelicans loaded the
bases with one out, and it was Billy Munoz to end the inning with an
unassisted double play at first.



           The Pelicans came back in the top eighth determined to catch the
AirHogs. With the bases loaded, Sing grabbed the RBI single to left bringing
in Christison. Alvarez followed with a RBI single to right putting Pensacola
down by one, and it was Conley who tied the game with another RBI single to
right. The Pelicans earned two more runs in the inning leaving Grand Prairie
behind 7-5.



           However, Grand Prairie took back the lead in the bottom of the
eighth. The first run came off a fielder's choice by Brandon Carter. The
AirHogs then captured the lead with four RBI hits by David Espinosa, Aaron
Garza, Billy Munoz, and Edwin Maldonado. Pensacola was unable to answer in
the top of the ninth.



Justin Garcia pitched 4.0 innings with 5 hits, 4 runs, 3 walks, and 2
strikeouts for the AirHogs. James Morrison earned the win for Grand Prairie.
He pitched two innings, while allowing four hits and two strikeouts.



John Webb pitched 5.0 innings for the Pelicans with 4 hits, 1 run, 6 walks,
and 1 strikeout. Donny Langdon earned the loss for Pensacola. He pitched 0.0
innings and surrendered three runs on two hits.



Grand Prairie stays at home to continue its series against Pensacola June 5
at 7:05p.m.
