Kansas City T-Bones Crush Schaumburg Flyers 9-4

MLN - THE RAW FEED - www.mlntherawfeed.com - KANSAS CITY, Kan. – In front of 10,403 fans, the Kansas City T-Bones won the first game of their three-game series against the Schaumburg Flyers 9-4.  Kansas City kept from falling below .500, improving their record to 23-22.  The attendance tonight was an all-time T-Bones record, breaking the previous mark of 10,345 set on June 23, 2007.

After back-to-back singles from Kevin Mahar and Aharon Eggleston off Brad Mumma to begin the T-Bones second, Steve Trout attempted a sacrifice bunt but reached safely on a dropped catch by second baseman Bo Hart.  John Martin and Eric Scriven each collected RBI groundouts to drive in the first two runs of the game.

Schaumburg answered in the third inning against Anthony Boughner with a two-run double from Vince Harrison and sacrifice fly by Peanut Williams to give the Flyers a 3-2 lead.

Boughner allowed one more run in the sixth on an RBI fielder’s choice groundout by Dan Maycock.  He improved to 4-3 after allowing four runs on seven hits in seven innings of work.  Mumma didn’t allow a run after the fourth but fell to 4-4 while surrendering nine runs, five earned, on nine hits in seven innings.

Bobby Carrington allowed two hits over the final two scoreless innings for Kansas City.  Kevin Mahar finished the game three-for-four to pace the T-Bones.

The two teams face off tomorrow night in game two as the T-Bones send Kenny Durost to the mound against Schaumburg’s Alex Rollin.  First pitch is scheduled for 7:05.
