Calgary Roughnecks Sign Three Players
Friday, October 30, 2009 at 08:14AM MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com -CALGARY, AB – The Calgary Roughnecks announced today the signing of defencemen Bruce Codd, John Lintz and netminder Alex Coutts to one-year deals. Terms of the deals were not disclosed and are subject to league approval.
Codd enters his third season with the Calgary Roughnecks. The native of Orangeville, Ontario notched five points (1g, 4a) in 16 games last season. In that time, he collected 76 loose balls. During the 2009 playoffs, Codd recorded six points, including two goals and four assists.

In 136 career regular season games, the left-handed defender has tallied 32 goals, 98 assists for 130 points. Codd has also collected 904 loose balls and racked up 69 penalty minutes during his career.
The 31-year-old defender was originally selected in the first round, 6th overall, in the 2008 NLL Dispersal Draft from Arizona.
Codd currently resides in Calgary, where he works as the Technical Director for the Alberta Lacrosse Association. Outside his job with the ALA, Codd spends time behind the bench of the Junior A Raiders as the team’s Head Coach.
Lintz, a native of Edmonton, AB, spent last season with the Roughnecks but didn’t see any floor time. In the off-season, the 23-year-old plays alongside the Langley Thunder of the WLA. Lintz tallied six points in 18 regular season games with Langley last season.
Coutts, who spent last season on the Roughnecks practice roster, played alongside the Brampton Excelsiors during the summer months. The native of Mission City, BC saw five minutes of floor time with Brampton, recording a 10.23 GAA and an 83 save percentage.
The Calgary Roughnecks kick-off the 2010 season on Sunday, January 10th at the Pengrowth Saddledome against the Minnesota Swarm.
