Rochester Rattlers Acquire Jordan Hall from the Chicago Machine in Exchange for Two Players, Draft Pick

MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com – (Rochester, NY)… Rochester Rattlers General Manager Jody Gage announced today that the team has acquired midfielder Jordan Hall from the Chicago Machine. In return, the Rattlers sent midfielders Brian Clayton and Matt Dasinger, and a 2008 third-round Collegiate Draft Pick (30th overall) to the Machine.

Hall is currently playing in the National Lacrosse League Playoffs with the New York Titans. He is a candidate for the league’s Rookie of the Year award, as he recorded 24 goals and 45 assists in 16 regular season games. Last season, Hall broke into Major League Lacrosse with Chicago and scored one goal and added four assists in six games. He was drafted by the Machine in the second round (11th overall) of the 2007 MLL Collegiate Draft.

Hall played his college lacrosse at the University of Delaware, where he played alongside Alex Smith to help the Blue Hens reach the 2007 NCAA Division I Men's Final Four. In 2005, he was named Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Year. He played in 66 career games with 61 starts and recorded 140 points (85+55) and scooped up 184 ground balls. Hall is ranked No. 13 on the all-time UD list for assists and points and No. 17 for goals. The native of Surrey, BC, also won a gold medal with Team Canada at the 2006 World Field Lacrosse Championships.

Winning national titles in 2004, 2005, and 2007 while playing for Division III Salisbury University, Dasinger was taken by Rochester in the second round of the 2007 MLL Collegiate Draft with the 19th overall pick. Dasinger appeared in three games for the Rattlers last season, scoring one goal and two assists.

Finally, Clayton was selected by the Rattlers in the third round of the 2007 Collegiate Draft with the 23rd overall pick. Clayton played collegiately at Cornell and was a Second Team All-Ivy selection as a senior year as he set career highs with 19 goals and 10 assists that season.  Clayton had three goals and three assists in five games for Rochester last season.

This trade gives both Chicago and Rochester a total of five picks each in the upcoming Collegiate Draft, which will be held on May 28th at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ.  Chicago currently holds the 1st overall pick in this year’s Draft. The 2008 MLL Collegiate Draft will be broadcast live on ESPNU at 8:30 p.m.

The Rattlers will officially open their 2008 Major League Lacrosse Training Camp this weekend at Irondequoit High School. The Rattlers will hit the field on Saturday, May 10th at 4:00 p.m. The second session is slated for 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 11th. The sessions are free and open to the public.
