Bob Watson of Toronto Rock Wins 2008 NLL Goaltender of the Year Award

MLN - THE RAW FEED - www.mlntherawfeed.com – Toronto - The National Lacrosse League has announced that Bob Watson of the Toronto Rock has won the 2008 Goaltender of the Year Award, presented by US Navy.

The 37-year-old goaltender posted a 78.6% save percentage and a 10.34 goals against average, good for fifth and third in the league, respectively, while playing 825 minutes in net this season.

The award is Watson's first in seven years, and third overall. He won back-to-back Goaltender of the Year honors with the Rock in 2000 and 2001.

Previous winners of the award include; Anthony Cosmo (2007), Steve Dietrich (2005 & 2006), Gee Nash (2004), Pat O'Toole (2003) and Rob Blasdell (2002).
The National Lacrosse League will continue to announce the winners of the league awards for the 2008 season until May 15th.  The announcements continue on Thursday with "The Les Bartley Award", presented the Head Coach of the Year and the General Manager of the Year Award.  The announcements will continue over the next eight days, leading up to the announcement of the Most Valuable Player for the 2008 NLL season on Thursday, May 15th.   The MVP announcement comes just prior to the weekend of the 2008 Edge NLL Championship Game, to be played on the weekend of May 16-18.
