MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com - Woodbridge, VA—The Salem Avalanche, Class A-Advanced affiliate of the Houston Astros, secured its eighth straight victory with a 4-1 decision
over the Potomac Nationals at Pfitzner Stadium Monday afternoon.  Brian Bogusevic tossed six innings of one-run ball to notch his fifth win of the season compared to three losses.

Salem hopped on Potomac starter Clint Everts in the fourth inning after a
scoreless first three.  With one out, Everts plunked Mark Ori with an 0-2
pitch.  Ole Sheldon then thumped a double to left field that moved Ori to
third.  With Mitch Einertson at the plate, a passed ball squeezed past
catcher Rob Sandora to bring Ori home.  After that, Einertson skied a ball
to center to score Sheldon.

The Avs carried a 2-1 lead into the seventh inning when Josh Flores socked
a triple to right field against reliever Yader Peralta.  Eric King laid a
suicide squeeze down to bring Flores to the plate.  In the eighth, Salem
grabbed its final run with an RBI double off the bat of Orlando Rosales.

For the Avs, Rosales finished the game 3-for-4 with a couple of doubles.
Flores concluded 2-for-4 with his team-leading fifth triple.  Mark Ori
failed to hit for the first time in his last eleven games.

Salem’s now won a season-best eight games in a row to raise its record to
28-22.  The season series with the Nationals is now all square at four.
