Northwest Arkansas Naturals Lose Exhibition Game to the Frisco RoughRiders in Cactus League Play
Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at 11:32AM MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com – SURPRISE, AZ – Quiet bats and two errors contributed to the Northwest Arkansas Naturals’ 4-1 exhibition loss the Frisco RoughRiders on Tuesday. The second loss of the season to the Texas Rangers’ Double-A club dropped the Naturals exhibition record to 3-2.
Left-hander Dusty Hughes allowed a run in the top of the first inning to Frisco before settling down for three more innings. Hughes struck out six, allowed two hits, and departed after four innings with the score tied at one. But the two errors led to three unearned runs off of relievers Matt Peterson and Greg Atencio, and the Naturals were unable to claw their way back.
Center fielder Derrick Robinson plated the lone Naturals run in the third inning, grounding into a double play after Chris McConnell walked, stole second, and took third on a single by Ovandy Suero. Designated hitter Jose Duarte followed and also got into scoring position by singling to right and stealing second, but Joe Dickerson grounded out to short to end the threat.

ADVERTISEMENT The Naturals have a total of 13 spring games on their Arizona schedule before breaking camp on March 28th. After a day of intrasquad games tomorrow, the Naturals will face the Huntsville Stars, the Double-A affiliate of the Milwaukeee Brewers, on Thursday.
