Harrisburg Senators Pitchers Throw Gem to Defeat Reading Phillies 8-2

MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com – Reading, PA – Three Harrisburg Senators pitchers combined to throw a five-hitter as the visitors knocked off the Phillies 8-2 Monday night at FirstEnergy Stadium.


The Senators (7-4) pulled away with a four-run fifth inning, which featured a walk, three singles and a double off Andrew Carpenter (1-2).         
             
They jacked the lead to 8-2 in the eighth off Shane Youman, who surrendered three runs and five hits in the inning.

Yurendell deCaster had three of the Senators’ 11 hits.  Williams Bergolla and Justin Maxwell each knocked in two runs.

Jason Donald had two of the Phillies’ five hits; Lou Marson doubled and scored a run.  Neil Sellers and Juan Tejeda also doubled.

Carpenter gave up five runs (four earned) and six hits in seven innings, with three walks and three strikeouts. 
Bobby Brownlie (1-0) went six efficient innings for the win.

The Phillies fell to 6-5.
