The first-place River Cats have now won five consecutive games after dropping their first three at home. Activated to the River Cats from Double-A Midland on Friday, starter Daniel Borrell threw six innings, allowing two unearned runs and struck out five to earn the win. Jerry Blevins threw 2.0 innings for his first save of the season. Outfielder Carlos Gonzalez hit his third home run of the season in the first inning off Sidewinders starter Emiliano Fruto. Third baseman Jeff Baisley was 2-for-2 with an RBI. The last time the River Cats swept a team was to end last year’s regular season, when they swept Tucson in a four-game series. The River Cats had four sweeps last season and have now had 32 in franchise history.
