Fort Myers Miracles Walk to Pick Up 6-2 Win from Lakeland Flying Tigers - Adv A, Florida State League

MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com - Attached is the box score for the Lakeland Flying Tigers vs. Fort Myers Miracle game on 4/20/08 from the Florida State League.  Click on the attached file to download/open. - FORT MYERS, F.L. (April 20, 2008) – The Lakeland Flying Tigers issued a season-high 10 walks on the year allowing the Fort Myers Miracle to grab a 6-2 win at Hammond Stadium on Sunday night. Four of the six Miracle runs scored reached with a base on balls, including all three in the bottom of the fifth.

Thanks to a couple of extra base hits and a Miracle fielding error in right, the Flying Tigers vaulted out to a 2-0 third inning lead. In the Miracle fifth, three walks issued to Danny Santiestiban , Brian Dinkelman and Juan Portes would quick payoff as Danny Valencia sliced a single to left while Wilson Ramos followed with a two-run single to center.

Valencia would tack on two more runs with his third dinger of the season, a mammoth blast to left-center, giving the Miracle a 5-2 cushion in the seventh. Insurance in the form of back-to-back doubles by Santiestiban and Yancarlos Ortiz led to the last Miracle run in the eighth.

Jeff Manship remained unbeaten starting the first 5.2 innings, giving up two runs on six hits in win number three. Jose Lugo and Anthony Slama held the Flying Tigers scoreless in the final three and one-thirds, with Slama earning his third save on the year.
