New Orleans Zephyrs Corner - AAA, Pacific Coast League

MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com - Game Keys:  Brian Buchanan drilled a three run home run in the third inning to help propel the Omaha Royals to a 6-1 win on Sunday afternoon over the Zephyrs at Rosenblatt Stadium.  New Orleans starter Ruddy Lugo suffered his first defeat of the season.  Lugo struggled a bit allowing six runs but four of the runs were unearned.  The Zephyrs defense committed four errors in the win on Saturday night but two key errors on Sunday led to the four unearned runs.  New Orleans has committed 19 miscues in 18 games.   The Royals starting pitcher Jorge De La Rosa worked six shutout innings, allowing three hits and struckout six in earning his second win.  Omaha’s Mike Aviles had three hits and scored a pair of runs for the Royals.  The lone Zephyr RBI came in the eighth inning with back to back doubles by Victor Mendez and Anderson Machado.

Game Notes:  Fernando Tatis did not get a hit on Sunday finishing 0x4 but leads all of Minor League Baseball with 8 home runs….  The Zephyrs have fallen to 1-3 in day games and have been shutout twice and scored a single run in the game on Sunday afternoon…..  The Z’s failed to get over the hump for the 5th time this season, New Orleans high water mark is three games over .500 and the Z’s have not been able to get to four above.  The Zephyrs have alternated wins and losses now in a stretch of eight days.
