Xavier Paul drove in three runs, while Angel Chavez and John-Ford Griffin both had two hits and two runs scored for the 51s, who have won four of their last give games. Las Vegas evened its record at 10-10 while handing the Beavers (7-11) their fourth loss in a row and snapping their three-game, road-winning streak.
Las Vegas took the lead in the fifth and utilized a four-run rally in the sixth to go up 6-1.

Cesar Ramos (2-2) was the recipient of the loss, despite holding Las Vegas to two runs and five hits while striking out six in his five innings. Mike Megrew spelled Ramos to start the sixth but allowed four runs, three hits and a walk while failing to record an out before giving way to Mauro Zarate.
Jody Gerut had one of the Beavers’ three hits and added three walks.
Chase Headley drew a bases-loaded walk with two outs to give the Beavers a quick lead in the first, but Portland left the bases loaded in the first and second inning with early chances to increase the lead.
The 51s responded in their half of the second, getting a leadoff double from Griffin and an RBI single from Paul.
Already up by five runs in the seventh, the 51s got RBI singles from Chavez and Kevin Howard to close out the scoring.
