In a Back-and-Forth Game Salem Avalanche Come Out On Top of the Myrtle Beach Pelicans 5-4 - Adv A, Carolina League

MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com - Myrtle Beach, SC — The Salem Avalanche, Class A-Advanced affiliate of the Houston Astros, saw a 4-1 lead evaporate in the late innings only to outdo Myrtle Beach in the 10th for a 5-4 win.  Jordan Parraz blasted a two-out
home run in the extra frame to send Salem (11-10) past Myrtle (12-10).

Salem carried a 4-2 lead into the ninth with reliever Jason Dominguez on
the mound.  With two out and a runner at first, Yohan Silva cracked a
triple down the right field line to trim the lead to one,  The next
batter, Brandon Hicks, lifted a fly ball to right field.  As Orlando
Rosales propelled himself to throw home, he dropped the ball and the game
was tied.  Next, Tyler Flowers rolled a ball to the mound that Dominguez
fielded.  The righty hesitated to allow the middle infield to position
itself.  Then, Dominguez flung the ball past Wladimir Sutil into the
outfield.  That put runners at the corners and Salem replaced Dominguez
with Erick Abreu.  Brandon Powell grounded a ball to shortstop which Tim
Torres fielded.  He stepped on the bag and threw to first for a double
play.
